• Criteria for Excellence in Special Education Award


    Criteria for Business Award

    To be eligible for this award, the nominated business must:

    • Be located in Hillsdale County
    • Provide opportunities for students with special needs in the Hillsdale County community
    • Shine as an example to the rest of the community for their efforts to help children succeed in life and in their  education
    • Not have received this award in the last five years

    Criteria for Education Award

    To be eligible for this award, the nominated education member or facility must:
    • Be located within Hillsdale County Schools Provide services to residential student, above and beyond the expectation of the job scope as outlined by their contract
    • Not have received this award in the last five years
    Note: This award includes all people who are involved in the education system (ex. support staff, teachers, administrators, bus drivers, maintenance, etc)

    Criteria for Community Award

    To be eligible for this award, the nominated community member or organization must:

    • Be those who serve residences of Hillsdale County, however, they themselves do not need to reside in Hillsdale County
    • Shine as an example to the rest of the community for their efforts to help children succeed in life and in their education
    • Provide opportunities for students with special needs in the Hillsdale County community
    • Not have received this award in the last five years

    Criteria for the Peer to Peer Award 

    To be eligible for this award, the nominated community member or organization must:

    • Be a student in Hillsdale County participating in the LINCS Program or Peer to Peer Program
    • Has gone above and beyond the scope of the program
    • Not have received this award in the last five years

    Each award is evaluated by a rubric. If a tie occurs, final decisions are based on majority vote by attending PAC representatives.
