School Based Services
The purpose of the School Based Services program is to acquire reimbursement for a portion of the costs of providing health services to Medicaid eligible students with disabilities and for identifying and helping at risk students and their families. School Districts have been participating in the School Based Services program since 1993 and all 56 intermediate school districts in the State of Michigan are enrolled providers.
The School Based Services program is broken down into two categories: Fee for Service and Administrative Outreach.
The Fee for Service program includes direct medical services provided to special education students as well as indirect services such as targeted case management and IEP/IFSP development. The services covered by the School Based Services program are:
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Speech & Language Services
- Orientation & Mobility
- Assistive Technology Services
- Social Work Services
- Targeted Case Management
- Special Education Transportation
- Personal Care Services
The Administrative Outreach Program generates partial reimbursement for the expense of identifying, locating, and helping at risk students throughout Hillsdale County.
