ISD CLASSROOMS & EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS WILL BE CONDUCTED VIRTUALLY

November 19, 2020

Dear Families and Community,

Covid-19 is impacting us daily, therefore, we have made the decision to move to a virtual platform for all ISD Classrooms and the Early Childhood programming beginning on Monday, November 23rd, 2020.  This is in addition to our other recent moves to virtual.  The specific programs are listed below.  Our program moves to a virtual platform have been largely put in place because of Covid-related issues with staff and lack of substitute teachers and paraprofessionals.  Please note that we do not have a positive Covid-19 case in these programs at this time.  We are hoping to reopen these classrooms on Tuesday, December 8th. Please contact Kara Carwell for more information, she can be reached at kara.carwell@hillsdale-isd.org or 616.634.1267.

The move to virtual impacts the following programs:

K-3 ASD Classroom at Hillsdale Prep

K-12 EI Program at Waldron

K-12 MoCI Program (K-8 at prep and 8-12 at Hillsdale Community)

Greenfield School: Young Adult Program and Severe Cognitive Impairment Classroom

Early Childhood homebased services

The following services are still being provided in-person:

ISD educational services provided to any local schools that are operating in person (any district that is operating a virtual model is receiving these services virtually)

Drop-in Service at Greenfield (Birth-26)

Mobile Therapy Bus (Birth-26)

Thank you for your continued support.  By working together, we will get through these challenging times.  As you know, the well-being of our students, staff, and families is our number one priority.

Sincerely,

Troy Reehl
